AMS Alpha Front Mount Intercooler, Stock Piping | 2009-2024 GT-R

The AMS Performance Alpha R35 GT-R Front Mount Intercooler for stock piping (part number ALP.07.09.0007-2) is the simplest way to drop charge temperatures on a tuned GT-R. It ships with the coupler kit that matches the factory intercooler piping, so you can install it without buying new pipes.

It is the same one-piece core AMS uses on its Alpha 9 GT-R package, with over 75% more internal flow area than the factory pair of intercoolers and support for builds up to about 1,000 horsepower. The cast A356-T6 aluminum end tanks were designed in CAD for smooth flow and mount at the factory points, so no cutting is needed. AMS used computational flow modeling to shape the tanks so air spreads evenly across the core.

Every intercooler is hand TIG welded in a fixture and pressure tested to 50 psi. Molded silicone couplers seal the 3" ports, and the finished unit looks like it belongs on the car.

Can I add AMS piping later?
Yes. The core is the same; you would need the AMS-piping coupler kit when you upgrade the pipes.

Do I need a tune?
It bolts on without a tune. Tuned cars see the biggest benefit from the lower charge temperatures.

Is the bumper modified?
No. It installs in the factory mounting points without trimming.
