Overview

The AMS Performance R35 GT-R Race X Front Mount Intercooler (part number ALP.07.09.0010-1) is the biggest intercooler AMS makes for the GT-R, developed for its 7-second "Alpha X" cars. If your GT-R makes more than 1,200 horsepower, and especially if you race in hot weather, this is the intercooler AMS recommends.

Its vertical-flow Garrett bar-and-plate core measures 22.2" x 14" x 6", giving 350% more volume than the factory pair of intercoolers, about 1,800 square inches of cooling. With 22 fins per inch, up to twice the density of most cores, more cool air touches every fin. On AMS test cars making more than 1,700 wheel horsepower, the Race X ran about 20 °F cooler at the end of the quarter mile than the AMS Race intercooler.

The billet end tanks were designed by AMS's SnailWorks engineering team for smooth flow, and the 3" billet CNC ports add strength. Shrouds and bridge plates channel air into the core, 5-ply silicone couplers seal the joints, and every unit is pressure tested to 50 psi.

Is this too much intercooler for my car?
It is designed for 1,200+ hp GT-Rs. Below that, the AMS Race intercooler is usually the better fit.

Will it fit behind the factory bumper?
Yes. It includes shrouds and bridge plates and is made to mount behind the GT-R bumper.

What couplers are included?
5-ply silicone couplers with clamps and hardware.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
