Overview

The AWE SwitchPath™ Exhaust for the G87 BMW M2 lets the compact M car switch between a refined road voice and the full bark of its S58 twin-turbo six, using the car's own drive modes. It is a dual 3-inch, 50-state emissions-compliant cat-back built around a bespoke X-pipe and a valved SwitchPath™ muffler with AWE's drone-cancelling 180 Technology®.

The X-pipe smooths the S58's tone, and the valved muffler keeps the cabin calm when the valves are closed. Open them in the sportier drive modes and the M2 gets the loud, clean exhaust note it deserves. SwitchPath™ retains all factory valve controls, so there is no additional remote or controller to fit.

AWE measured gains of up to 3 hp and 4 lb-ft of torque at the wheels from the clean, straight-through design. The system uses ball-socket mounting points for easier installation and finishes in quad 4.5-inch double-walled slash-cut tips in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black. It is manufactured in-house by AWE in the USA and backed by AWE's No CEL Guarantee, Perfect Fitment Guarantee and Lifetime Warranty.

Does it keep my factory exhaust valves and drive modes?
Yes. SwitchPath™ retains all factory valve controls, so no remote or extra controller is needed.

Why is Diamond Black priced higher?
AWE prices the SwitchPath™ with Diamond Black tips slightly above the Chrome Silver version; both use the same system.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Do I need a tune?
No. It is a cat-back system and AWE guarantees no check engine light.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
