AWE Touring Edition Exhaust for 2023-2026 Honda Civic Type R FL5

The AWE Touring Edition Exhaust gives the FL5 Civic Type R the voice its K20C1 deserves while keeping the car easy to live with on long drives. The factory system is heavy and quiet, built around a center-exit triple-tip layout. AWE keeps that signature look but replaces the plumbing with a full 3-inch cat-back, from an integrated front pipe right through to a stamped stainless trident merge and three 4.5-inch double-walled slash-cut tips.

The Touring Edition gets its manners from AWE's patented 180 Technology® muffler, tuned specifically for the FL5. It is straight-through, so it does not choke flow, but its chambers cancel the droning frequencies that four-cylinder turbo cars make at highway speed. AWE developed the tune both on stock downpipes and on aftermarket catted downpipes, so it stays refined either way. A resonated midpipe trims rasp, and the result is a deeper, fuller tone that wakes up under boost.

The 3-inch front pipe carries a unique flange and gasket so the system stays a true 3 inches from inlet to outlet while still bolting to the factory interface. On AWE's dyno that was worth up to 14 hp and 13 lb-ft at the wheels with the stock downpipe, and the system weighs 46 lbs against the factory 50.5 lbs. Installation is a direct bolt-on with no motor mount removal.

Do I have to drop the motor mount?
No. AWE designed it to install without motor mount removal.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Do I need a tune?
No. It is a bolt-on cat-back and AWE guarantees no check engine light.

How do I look after Vapor Blue tips?
Vapor Blue tips carry no AWE warranty; wash them gently and do not use metal polish on them.

Can I make it louder later?
Yes. The Touring-to-Track Conversion Kit swaps the muffler for a straight section.

Fitment Notes

• Built for U.S.-market 2023-2026 Honda Civic Type R (FL5) hatchbacks. AWE only confirms fitment on U.S. models, so it is not offered for other markets. It does not fit the FK8 Civic Type R, the FE1 Civic Si or the Acura Integra Type S (DE5).
• AWE developed the FL5 systems with and without aftermarket catted downpipes. No motor mount removal is needed to install.
