Brembo Big Brake Kits for BMW E36 M3 (1995-1999)

Every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the 1995-1999 BMW M3 (E36) is on this page, front and rear. Up front you can choose GT 4-piston kits on 332mm or 355mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 355mm discs, or a PISTA 6-piston race kit. At the rear there is a GT 4-piston kit and a PISTA 4-piston kit, both on 328mm discs. The E36 M3 is a track-day and club-racing staple, and its factory brakes are small for the speeds these cars now run. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

Brembo lists every kit for the E36 M3 sedan, coupe and convertible. Please read the notes for the front GT kits. On 1995 models, Brembo says a minor modification to the lower control arm, outboard of the ball joint, is needed. The 332mm kit also requires modification to the OEM steering knuckle.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: Four front kits are listed first: a GT 4-piston kit on 332x32mm discs, a GT 4-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, and a PISTA 6-piston kit on 355x35mm discs. Then come two rear kits: a GT 4-piston kit on 328x28mm discs and a PISTA 4-piston kit on 328x28mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: front GT 4-piston 332x32mm kit, front GT 4-piston 355x32mm kit, and rear GT 4-piston 328x28mm kit: black, red, and silver; front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit: black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated); all PISTA kits: Brembo's standard PISTA finish. A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days; Type 5 Slotted is a PISTA race disc for long, hot sessions. Offered as follows: Drilled and Type 1 Slotted on the front GT 4-piston 332x32mm kit and rear GT 4-piston 328x28mm kit; Drilled and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 4-piston 355x32mm kit and front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit; Type 3 Slotted and Type 5 Slotted on the front PISTA 6-piston 355x35mm kit; Type 5 Slotted on the rear PISTA 4-piston 328x28mm kit.

FAQ

Do these fit a 1995 M3?
Yes, but Brembo notes that 1995 E36 M3 models need a minor modification to the lower control arm, outboard of the ball joint, for the front GT kits.

Which front kit needs knuckle modification?
Brembo notes that the 4-piston 332x32mm kit requires modification to the OEM steering knuckle.

Does the rear PISTA kit keep a parking brake?
Yes. Brembo lists the rear PISTA kit with a parking brake.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 355mm kits need the most room on the E36 M3. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists all kits on this page for the 1995-1999 BMW M3 (E36). Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
