Brembo Big Brake Kits for BMW F01/F02 7 Series (2009-2015)

This page lists every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the fifth-generation BMW 7 Series: the F01 sedan, the long-wheelbase F02 and the F04 ActiveHybrid 7, sold in the US for the 2009-2015 model years. That covers the 740i and 740Li, the 750i and 750Li with or without xDrive, the 760Li and the ActiveHybrid 7. These are large, heavy luxury sedans with turbocharged six, V8 and V12 power, and a Brembo kit gives them a firmer pedal and more resistance to fade on fast highway and mountain drives. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

There is one front kit and one rear kit. On the front there is a GT 6-piston kit on 405x34mm two-piece discs, and on the rear a GT 4-piston kit on 380x28mm two-piece discs.

Both kits come in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S hard-anodized black or GT-R nickel-plated billet, so you can match the finish front and rear. The front kit is offered with drilled or Type 3 slotted discs, and the rear kit with drilled, Type 1 slotted or Type 3 slotted discs.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: One front kit is listed first: a GT 6-piston kit on 405x34mm discs. Then comes one rear kit: a GT 4-piston kit on 380x28mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: every kit on this page comes in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated). A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days. Offered as follows: Drilled and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 405x34mm kit; Drilled, Type 1 Slotted, and Type 3 Slotted on the rear GT 4-piston 380x28mm kit.

FAQ

Which 7 Series models do these fit?
Brembo lists the kits for the 7-Series (F01, F02, F04) 2009-2015. In the US that covers the 750i and 750Li (2009-2015), the xDrive versions (2010-2015), the 760Li (2010-2015), the 740i and 740Li (2011-2015) and the ActiveHybrid 7.

Do these kits fit the G11/G12 7 Series?
No. The 2016-on 7 Series (G11, G12) uses different brakes, so these kits are listed for the F01, F02 and F04 only.

Which kit should I fit first?
Start with a front kit. The front axle does most of the braking on the 7 Series, so that is where a bigger caliper and disc make the biggest difference. Add a rear kit later for balance and matching looks.

Can I match the rear calipers to the front?
Yes. The rear kit comes in the same six finishes as the front kit, including GT-S and GT-R.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 405mm kits need the most room on the 7 Series. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists both kits on this page for the BMW 7-Series (F01, F02, F04) 2009-2015. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
