Brembo Big Brake Kits for BMW F12/F13/F06 6 Series (2012-2018)

This page lists every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the third-generation BMW 6 Series: the F12 coupe and F13 convertible, sold in the US for the 2012-2017 model years, and the four-door F06 Gran Coupe, sold for 2013-2018. That covers the 640i, the 650i and 650i xDrive, and the 640i and 650i Gran Coupe. These are heavy, fast grand tourers, and a Brembo GT kit adds brake capacity and a firmer pedal for hard driving. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

There is one front kit and one rear kit. On the front there is a GT 6-piston kit on 405x34mm two-piece discs, and on the rear a GT 4-piston kit on 380x28mm two-piece discs.

Both kits come in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S hard-anodized black or GT-R nickel-plated billet. The front kit is offered with drilled or Type 3 slotted discs, and the rear kit with drilled, Type 1 slotted or Type 3 slotted discs.

Please note: Brembo marks the GT 4-piston rear kit on this page NOT FOR ROAD USE, because it eliminate the parking/emergency brake function. It is meant for track cars only. For a street car, choose a front kit.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: One front kit is listed first: a GT 6-piston kit on 405x34mm discs. Then comes one rear kit: a GT 4-piston kit on 380x28mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: every kit on this page comes in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated). A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days. Offered as follows: Drilled and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 405x34mm kit; Drilled, Type 1 Slotted, and Type 3 Slotted on the rear GT 4-piston 380x28mm kit.

FAQ

Which models do these fit?
Brembo lists the kits for the 640i and the 650i with or without xDrive (F12, F13) 2012-2017, and the 640i and 650i Gran Coupe with or without xDrive (F06) 2012-2018. In the US the Gran Coupe arrived for the 2013 model year.

Can I use the rear kit on the street?
No. Brembo marks the 6 Series rear kit "NOT FOR ROAD USE" because it eliminates the parking/emergency brake function. It is for dedicated track cars.

Which kit should I fit first?
Start with the GT 6-piston front kit. It is road-legal and keeps your parking brake, and the front axle does most of the braking.

Do these kits fit the M6?
No. Brembo lists these kits for the 640i and 650i models only, so they are not listed for the M6.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 405mm kits need the most room on the 6 Series. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists both kits on this page for the BMW 640i and 650i (F12, F13) 2012-2017 and the 640i and 650i Gran Coupe (F06) 2012-2018. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.

• Rear: GT 4-Piston 380x28mm: NOT FOR ROAD USE. This system eliminates the parking/emergency brake function.
