Brembo Big Brake Kits for Ford S197 Mustang (2005-2014)

This page lists every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the 2005-2014 S197 Ford Mustang. They are all front kits: GT 4- and 6-piston kits on 355mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 380mm discs, and PISTA race kits for the GT, Boss 302 and GT500. The S197 is heavy, and a V8 car on a road course or drag strip builds a lot of heat in the front brakes. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

Each kit name starts with its group. Kits marked "GT & V6" fit the Mustang GT and the V6 (Brembo excludes V6 cars without ABS). Kits marked "GT & Boss 302" are PISTA race kits listed for the GT and the 2012-2013 Boss 302. The GT500 has its own PISTA 4-piston billet kit with Type 5 discs.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: each kit name starts with the cars it fits, so pick your group first. "GT & V6": front GT 4-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, front GT 6-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, and front GT 6-piston kit on 380x32mm discs. "GT & Boss 302": front PISTA 4-piston kit on 380x34mm discs, front PISTA 6-piston kit on 380x34mm discs, and front PISTA 6-piston kit on 380x35mm discs. "GT500": front PISTA 4-piston kit on 380x34mm discs. Then choose the axle and kit.
• Finish: "GT & V6" front GT 4-piston 355x32mm kit: black, red, and silver; "GT & V6" front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit and "GT & V6" front GT 6-piston 380x32mm kit: black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated); "GT & Boss 302" front PISTA 4-piston 380x34mm kit, "GT & Boss 302" front PISTA 6-piston 380x34mm kit, and "GT500" front PISTA 4-piston 380x34mm kit: a clear-anodized PISTA finish; "GT & Boss 302" front PISTA 6-piston 380x35mm kit: Brembo's standard PISTA finish. A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days; Type 5 Slotted is a PISTA race disc for long, hot sessions. GT kits: add the finish code to the base part number for the exact part: 1 black, 2 red, 3 silver, 5 yellow, 7 fluorescent yellow, S GT-S, R GT-R. Replacement and upgrade pads for these calipers are sold separately.

FAQ

Which kits fit my V6 Mustang?
The kits marked "GT & V6": the 4-piston and 6-piston 355mm kits and the 6-piston 380mm kit. Brembo excludes V6 cars without ABS.

Is there a kit for the GT500?
Yes. Brembo lists a PISTA 4-piston billet front kit on 380x34mm Type 5 discs for the 2007-2014 GT500.

Is there a rear kit?
Brembo lists front kits only for the S197 Mustang.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 380mm kits need the most room on the Mustang. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists the kits on this page for the 2005-2014 Ford Mustang (S197): GT and V6 (excluding non-ABS cars), Boss 302 (2012-2013) and GT500 (2007-2014), as named in each kit. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
