Brembo Big Brake Kits for Honda FL5 Civic Type R (2023-2027)

Every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the 2023-2027 Honda Civic Type R (FL5) is on this page. All three are front kits: a GT 6-piston kit on 380x32mm two-piece discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 380x34mm two-piece discs, and a PISTA 6-piston race kit on 380x35mm discs. The FL5 sends 315 horsepower through the front wheels, and on a road course the front brakes do most of the work, so more disc mass and a stiffer caliper make a real difference in fade resistance. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

Both GT kits come in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S hard-anodized black or GT-R nickel-plated billet, with drilled, Type 1 slotted or Type 3 slotted discs. The 380x34mm kit uses a thicker disc than the 380x32mm kit. The PISTA kit is offered with Type 3 or Type 5 slotted discs. Brembo notes that all three systems reuse the OEM brake lines.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: Three front kits are listed first: a GT 6-piston kit on 380x32mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 380x34mm discs, and a PISTA 6-piston kit on 380x35mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: front GT 6-piston 380x32mm kit and front GT 6-piston 380x34mm kit: black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated); the PISTA kit: Brembo's standard PISTA finish. A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days; Type 5 Slotted is a PISTA race disc for long, hot sessions. Offered as follows: Drilled, Type 1 Slotted, and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 380x32mm kit and front GT 6-piston 380x34mm kit; Type 3 Slotted and Type 5 Slotted on the PISTA kit.

FAQ

Do these kits fit the refreshed 2027 Civic Type R?
Brembo lists these kits for the FL5 Civic Type R from the 2023 model year on, with no end year, which includes the refreshed 2027 car.

Do these kits include brake lines?
No. Brembo notes that these systems retain the OEM brake lines.

380x32mm or 380x34mm GT kit?
Both use the same 380mm disc diameter and 6-piston GT calipers. The 380x34mm kit has a thicker disc for more heat capacity; finishes and disc types are the same for both.

What is the difference between the GT and PISTA kits?
GT kits are built for road use and track days and come in several caliper finishes. PISTA kits are Brembo's race systems, with disc springs and a centering ring as standard, for cars that run long, hot track sessions.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 380mm kits need the most room on the Civic Type R. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists the kits on this page for the Honda Civic Type R (FL5), sold in the US from the 2023 model year. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
