Brembo Big Brake Kits for Volkswagen Mk8 GTI (2022-2026)

This page lists the Brembo big brake kits we offer for the Volkswagen GTI (Mk8) from 2022 on. There are two front kits: a GT 6-piston kit on 350x34mm discs and a PISTA 6-piston race kit on 355x35mm discs. The Mk8 GTI is a quick, turbocharged hot hatch, and on a front-drive car the front brakes do most of the work at an autocross or track day. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

Brembo lists both kits for the Mk8 GTI. The GT kit comes with Type 3 Slotted discs, in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S or GT-R. The PISTA kit is for cars that run long, hot track sessions.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: Two front kits are listed first: a GT 6-piston kit on 350x34mm discs and a PISTA 6-piston kit on 355x35mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: front GT 6-piston 350x34mm kit: black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated); the PISTA kit: Brembo's standard PISTA finish. A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days; Type 5 Slotted is a PISTA race disc for long, hot sessions. Offered as follows: Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 350x34mm kit; Type 3 Slotted and Type 5 Slotted on the PISTA kit.

Specifications

GT kits: add the finish code to the base part number for the exact part: 1 black, 2 red, 3 silver, 5 yellow, 7 fluorescent yellow, S GT-S, R GT-R. Replacement and upgrade pads for these calipers are sold separately.

Which kit should I choose?
For a street car that sees track days or autocross, choose the GT 6-piston kit. The PISTA kit is a race system for cars that run long track sessions.

Is there a rear kit?
Brembo lists front kits only for the Mk8 GTI.

What is the difference between the GT and PISTA kits?
GT kits are built for road use and track days and come in several caliper finishes. PISTA kits are Brembo's race systems, with disc springs and a centering ring as standard, for cars that run long, hot track sessions.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 355mm kits need the most room on the GTI. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists both kits on this page for the Volkswagen GTI (Mk8) from 2022 on. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
