Overview

The VRSF N55 charge pipe replaces the plastic pipe between the intercooler and throttle body on the larger BMWs with the single-turbo 3.0-liter six. It fits the F10 and F11 535i, the 535i Gran Turismo, the 640i in all three body styles, the 740i and 740Li, and the E70, E71, F15 and F16 X5 and X6 35i. Its billet throttle body flange keeps the factory C-clip for a factory-style seal.

Why Replace the Factory Pipe

The plastic N55 charge pipe gets brittle with heat cycles and is known to crack, sometimes even on stock boost. When it fails, boost drops instantly and the car goes into limp mode. This aluminum pipe removes that weak point before you tune, and its smooth 3-inch bore matched to the throttle body improves throttle response and cuts turbo lag.

Materials and Construction

The pipe is aluminum with a CNC-machined billet throttle body flange that locks in with the factory C-clip, which seals better than a typical coupler-and-clamp joint. It is powder coated black, and a plugged 1/8-inch NPT bung is welded in for water-methanol injection or a boost reference.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
