Eventuri G8X V1 vs V2: Will It Fit a CSL Strut Brace?

Intake and brace share a tight space. Verify the exact parts before changing the combination.

If you are buying an Eventuri intake for a G80 M3, G82 M4 or G87 M2, the V1-versus-V2 question matters most when a CSL-style strut brace is part of the plan. Eventuri describes the current V2 system as designed for fitment with the CSL strut brace. An earlier intake should not be assumed to have the same clearance simply because it looks similar in a listing photo.

For a new purchase, the Eventuri G8X V2 carbon intake system is the starting point. For an intake already on your car, identify the version and brace before ordering anything. You may need a targeted update rather than another complete intake.

The short answer: buy for the brace you intend to use

V2 is the straightforward choice when you are starting from the factory intake and want Eventuri's stated CSL-brace compatibility. That does not make every aftermarket brace interchangeable. A brace advertised as "CSL-style" can differ in shape, mounting hardware or dimensions from the factory part.

Already own an early Eventuri G8X system? There is a retrofit route for at least the gloss V1 configuration: an update kit replaces the main carbon intake tube and left-side intake housing, without a filter. Confirm the exact kit and finish with us before buying. We are not treating that kit as a universal fix for every intake, brace or finish combination.

Your situation What to check first Buying direction
Factory intake, planning a CSL brace Chassis, model year and exact brace Start with the complete G8X V2 system
Existing Eventuri, version unknown Invoice, part number and detailed photos Identify it before ordering
Confirmed gloss V1, adding a CSL-style brace Retrofit-kit compatibility with your parts Ask about an update rather than automatically replacing the whole intake
V2 with a different aftermarket brace That brace's clearance requirements Verify the combination; do not generalize factory CSL fitment

Use the part number, not a carbon-fiber photo

The manufacturer lists EVE-G8XMV2-CF-INT for the gloss G8X V2 system and EVE-G8XMV2-CFM-INT for matte. The "V2" portion is useful identification evidence. Keep the entire number, including the finish suffix, when asking for fitment help.

Start with your original order confirmation or box label. If the intake was bought used, ask for the original invoice and take clear photos of the complete assembly, the long carbon tube, both housings and mounting brackets. An intake may have had components changed after purchase, so a box alone cannot prove every part currently fitted.

Do not identify the version from gloss versus matte, red filter media, or a listing title that simply says "G8X Eventuri." Those details do not establish brace clearance. An old product photo paired with a revised title is another reason to confirm the actual SKU being supplied.

Also keep G8X and F8X separate. Eventuri uses V2 terminology on other BMW systems, including the F80/F82 generation. "Eventuri V2" without a chassis is not a complete buying specification.

What is included in the current G8X V2 system?

The current manufacturer specification includes two carbon Venturi filter housings, two dry cone filters, two carbon inlet ducts, a carbon intake tube and two thermoplastic turbo inlets. Brackets, a flexible hose, mounts and reinforcement rings complete the assembly. That last material distinction matters: a carbon intake system does not mean every component is carbon fiber.

This is an intake-path purchase, not just an engine-bay cover. The carbon ducts feed the housings from the stock cold-air entry locations, while the tube and turbo inlets form the downstream path. Confirm the complete contents if buying used; an attractive pair of housings is not the same thing as the full kit.

AutoTalent's current listing covers G80 M3 and G82 M4 models from 2021, and G87 M2 models from 2023. Provide your exact year and model when ordering. Do not extend that fitment to an X3 M or X4 M because those vehicles also use an S58 engine. Shared engine family does not establish identical engine-bay packaging.

V2 does not mean a guaranteed horsepower jump over V1

Eventuri's published performance figures compare its system with the factory setup under stated test conditions. They are not a controlled V1-versus-V2 promise for your car. Likewise, a larger inlet cross-sectional area is a geometry specification, not a percentage increase in horsepower.

For this decision, separate the questions. Do you need a complete intake? Does your existing assembly clear the brace? Are you trying to solve a fitment problem or chasing a measured restriction at your current power level? Buying V2 solely because the number is newer skips the useful part of the comparison.

A sound existing setup does not become unsuitable overnight because a revised system exists. If the goal is brace compatibility, confirm whether the relevant update solves that problem before pricing an entire replacement. If the goal is more power, discuss the car's current hardware and calibration rather than treating the intake version as a dyno result.

Installation is more than changing two visible housings

The manufacturer's G8X installation guide includes removing the factory intake components, changing the turbo inlets, transferring relevant connections and installing the ducts, tube and housings. Some fasteners are awkward to reach. This is a good reason to have the installer review the current guide before quoting the job.

Do not cut, grind or force carbon components to make an unverified brace combination fit. Stop and check the parts instead. A professional fitment check should cover mounting points, connected hoses and sensors, clamp position, and clearance with the intended brace installed. Use the manufacturer's instructions for fastener torque and assembly order rather than copying a number from an unrelated BMW intake guide.

What to send us before you order

For a new system, send your chassis, year, exact model, preferred finish and the brace you have or intend to install. For a retrofit question, add the existing intake's part number, purchase paperwork if available, and photos of the installed components. Include any non-factory parts near the intake path.

Our Eventuri performance parts collection is useful for browsing the range, but this purchase should be matched to the car and brace, not a broad brand label. We can help check whether a complete V2 intake or a compatible update is the right next step.

Call (310) 231-0292, text (310) 886-3111, or email online@autotalent.com with those details. Verify the combination first, then order the parts that solve your actual fitment question.
