Porsche 992 Front Axle Lift Retrofit: What to Check Before Buying TECHART Noselift

Driveway transitions are a reason to investigate front lift. Check the actual contact point on your car.

A used 992 can have the engine, transmission and seats you wanted, yet still be missing the factory front axle lift. If the nose scrapes on your driveway or parking-garage entrance, an aftermarket retrofit is worth investigating. TECHART offers a hydraulic Noselift system, but the buying question is more specific than "does it fit a 992?"

Start with your exact generation, model, steering position and suspension. Then check what is actually contacting the ground. A front lift can add useful nose clearance; it does not guarantee that every ramp, splitter or lowered setup becomes safe to drive over.

Can you add front lift after buying the car?

Yes, a compatible car without factory front axle lift can be a candidate for TECHART's retrofit. The TECHART Noselift system for the Porsche 992 Carrera is listed under part number 092.200.800.009. It is a separate hydraulic system operated through an interior button, not an activation of a dormant factory option.

That distinction matters when comparing a retrofit with the lift on another owner's car. Factory equipment and aftermarket equipment can have different controls and features. Do not assume that a retrofit includes location memory, integration with the Porsche touchscreen or all the functions of the original Porsche option unless those details are confirmed for the supplied system.

Check 992.1 versus 992.2 before ordering

The current TECHART USA listing is for left-hand-drive Carrera and Turbo applications, with coupe and cabriolet fitment described. It includes 992.1 Carrera models and identifies specific facelifted 992.2 Carrera applications. It also gives exclusions that a broad "Porsche 992" product title can hide.

Car Current manufacturer guidance What to do
992.1 Carrera Listed in the current Noselift application range Confirm exact model, year, suspension and absence of factory lift
992.2 Carrera 2/2S or 4/4S Specifically included in TECHART USA's current listing Verify the supplied kit for your VIN before ordering through an older store fitment table
992.2 GTS, model year 2025 onward Excluded from that listing Do not order this kit on the basis of a generic Carrera/GTS label
992.2 Turbo or Turbo S, model year 2026 onward Excluded from that listing Request application-specific advice instead
GT3 or GT3 RS Excluded from that listing This Carrera/Turbo kit is not the buying path

AutoTalent's current product page has an older fitment table covering listed Carrera variants from 2019 through 2022. That is not enough to independently confirm a newer car. Send us the VIN and exact specification so we can check the current application before you commit. Equally, a 992.1 GTS and a facelifted 992.2 GTS should not be treated as the same fitment question.

How much does the nose rise?

TECHART's current US listing distinguishes approximately 35 mm of front-axle ride-height adjustment from approximately 40 mm at the splitter. Other TECHART and retailer descriptions summarize the lift as roughly 40 mm. These are approximate figures, not a guaranteed amount of usable clearance for your particular car.

The place you measure matters. Clearance at the leading edge of a splitter is not the same measurement as ride height at the axle. A different lip, wheel-and-tire setup or lowering arrangement can change the starting point. Have the installer evaluate the actual car and the obstacle that causes trouble rather than subtracting a catalog number from a driveway measurement.

The system is intended for low-speed clearance situations. TECHART describes operation below 60 km/h and automatic speed-dependent re-lowering. That speed is an operating limit, not a suggested speed for crossing a ramp. Slow down, activate the lift before the obstacle and follow the supplied operating instructions.

A front lift is not a cure for every scrape

First establish whether the front lip is touching at the approach, or whether a different part of the car contacts later. A front-axle system raises the nose; it is not an all-wheel lift. If the scrape happens beneath the middle of the car as it passes over a crest, adding front lift should not be assumed to solve it.

A steep driveway, an abrupt transition and a long front splitter are different problems. Photograph the entrance and note where the contact occurs. If possible, have a workshop assess the approach without deliberately repeating the scrape. That gives the fitment conversation something more useful than "my Porsche is too low."

Owner reports on front lift vary for good reason: some use it at every driveway entrance, while others rarely need it on their routes. Your garage and daily parking locations matter more than whether someone with a different 911 calls the feature essential.

Confirm the suspension and installation plan

The current TECHART USA page lists use with OE springs, sport springs, TECHART sport springs and TECHART threaded springs. Do not turn that wording into permission to pair the kit with every aftermarket coilover or spring package. Tell us what is currently installed, including any planned suspension changes.

The listed kit contains two lift cylinders, a hydraulic unit, a switch, assembly hardware and instructions. This is a hardware installation, not a software-only job. Ask the installer to review the current instructions, the suspension combination and the placement of the hydraulic components before quoting the work.

Plan the complete installed cost, not just the parts price. Ask what the quote includes, what post-installation checks are needed and how the system will be demonstrated at handover. If you also want to lower the car or change its aero, settle that plan before ordering the lift. Buying each part separately without checking the combination can turn a clearance solution into another fitment problem.

What to send AutoTalent for a fitment check

Send the model year, full model designation, VIN, left- or right-hand-drive specification, current suspension and confirmation of whether the car already has factory lift. Add photos of the front lip and the troublesome entrance, plus details of any aftermarket splitter or planned ride-height change.

Browse our TECHART Porsche upgrade collection for the wider range, but match the Noselift kit to the exact car before placing an order. This is especially important for newer 992.2 variants and cars with non-factory suspension.

Call (310) 231-0292, text (310) 886-3111, or email online@autotalent.com. The right retrofit starts with a clear application check and a realistic installation plan, not a promise that your nose will never scrape again.
