Own the AWE Touring Edition for your 2022-2026 Volkswagen GTI and want the aggressive sound? The AWE Touring-to-Track Conversion Kit turns it into a Track Edition. It replaces the Touring mid section, which carries the 180 Technology® resonator, with the straight Track mid section used on the Track Edition, so you get the louder edition without buying a whole new exhaust.

AWE designed its Mk8 GTI exhaust suite so owners always have options, and conversion kits are how you move between editions. The Track mid section is handcrafted from CNC mandrel-bent, U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel with a .065" wall, manufactured in-house by AWE, and fits in place of the Touring mid section using the clamps already on your system. Note that AWE does not accept returns of the Track Edition for sound preference, so listen to the clip below first.

Does this kit work without an AWE exhaust?
No. It replaces the mid section of the AWE Touring Edition cat-back for the 2022-2026 GTI. It is not a standalone exhaust.

How loud will my GTI be after converting?
You end up with AWE's Track Edition sound, which AWE describes as the aggressive edition.

Can I go back to Touring later?
Yes. Keep your original 180 Technology® Touring mid section and bolt it back in, or see the Track-to-Touring Conversion Kit.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

AWE does not accept returns of the Track Edition for sound preference, so please listen to the clip above before ordering.

Shipping & returns

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
