Overview

The AWE Track Edition Exhaust for the G80 M3 and G82 M4 takes the precision engineering of the SwitchPath™ system and removes the valved rear muffler. What is left is a constant "valve open" exhaust with rich, rowdy S58 tones at all times, at a lower price and with extra weight savings: paired with AWE's non-resonated mid pipes, the full Track Edition setup is 13 lb lighter than the stock exhaust.

It uses the same dual 3-inch layout and bespoke X-pipe as the SwitchPath™, so the twin-turbo six stays smooth instead of raspy, even with nothing softening the rear. AWE valve simulators are included to take the place of the factory exhaust valve motors, so the car's computer stays happy and the system remains 50-state emissions compliant. Sport+ mode in particular gets raucous. This is the version for drivers who want their M car loud every time it starts.

Like the SwitchPath™, the Track Edition mounts on ball sockets, uses inlet adapters to mate to the factory mid-section, and fits both the stock and M Performance valances. It ends in quad 4.5-inch double-walled slash-cut tips in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, and AWE manufactures it in-house from U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel.

Frequently Asked Questions

How loud is the Track Edition?
It is the loudest G8X exhaust AWE builds and AWE warns it may be too much for many drivers, especially in Sport+. Watch AWE's video and listen to clips before ordering.

What happens to my factory exhaust valves?
The Track Edition has no valves. AWE valve simulators are included for the factory valve motors so no fault codes are set.

Does it fit the M4 Convertible?
AWE does not guarantee it on the G83 Convertible because of additional factory bracing.

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Do I need a tune?
No. It is a cat-back system and AWE guarantees no check engine light.

Fitment Notes

  • Built for U.S.-market G80 M3 sedans and G82 M4 coupes. AWE does not guarantee fitment on the G83 M4 Convertible because of its additional factory bracing.
  • Special editions such as the M3 CS and M4 CSL: please call or text us to confirm before ordering.
  • AWE confirms fitment with both the stock and M Performance rear valances.
  • Installation cuts the factory exhaust at the point AWE specifies, ahead of the rear section; ball-socket adapters and inlet adapters join the AWE system to the factory mid-section. No tune required.
  • AWE does not accept returns of the Track Edition for sound preference, so please listen to the clip above before ordering.

Shipping: Orders ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS, from our facility near Los Angeles or directly from the manufacturer. Rates for many items are weight-based and shown at checkout. If you need it by a certain date, text us before you order.

Returns: Unused items in brand-new condition and original packaging can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date, with a 25% restocking fee unless otherwise specified. In some cases we can offer a lower fee with the balance as store credit. Shipping charges aren't refundable in either direction unless approved by AutoTalent.

Not returnable: special-order or custom items, and anything that has been installed, modified or altered.

Cancellations: free if the item is out of stock or we miss the ETA you agreed to. Other cancellations carry a 5% processing fee to cover card fees we can't recover. Special-order items can't be cancelled.

Damaged in transit? Report it to the carrier and to us within 48 hours, keep all packaging, and don't send anything back without our written approval.
