Brembo Big Brake Kits for BMW E82 1M (2011)

This page lists every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the BMW 1 Series M Coupe (E82), better known as the 1M and sold in the US for the 2011 model year only. The 1M pairs a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six with wide M3-derived axles in a short, light coupe, and it is one of the most track-driven BMWs of its era. Repeated hard stops are where the factory brakes run out of capacity first, and a Brembo GT kit adds heat capacity and a firmer, more consistent pedal. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

There are two front kits and two rear kits. On the front you can choose a GT 6-piston kit on 365x34mm two-piece discs or a GT 6-piston kit on 380x34mm two-piece discs. On the rear you can choose a GT 4-piston kit on 345x28mm two-piece discs or a GT 4-piston kit on 380x28mm two-piece discs.

Every kit comes in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S hard-anodized black or GT-R nickel-plated billet, so you can match the finish front and rear. The 365mm front kit is offered with drilled or Type 1 slotted discs; the 380mm front kit and both rear kits are offered with drilled, Type 1 slotted or Type 3 slotted discs.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: Two front kits are listed first: a GT 6-piston kit on 365x34mm discs and a GT 6-piston kit on 380x34mm discs. Then come two rear kits: a GT 4-piston kit on 345x28mm discs and a GT 4-piston kit on 380x28mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: every kit on this page comes in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated). A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days. Offered as follows: Drilled and Type 1 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 365x34mm kit; Drilled, Type 1 Slotted, and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 380x34mm kit, rear GT 4-piston 345x28mm kit, and rear GT 4-piston 380x28mm kit.

FAQ

Which cars do these fit?
Brembo lists the kits for the 1M (E82) 2011-2012. In the US the 1 Series M Coupe was sold for the 2011 model year only, so every US 1M is covered.

Do the 128i and 135i kits fit the 1M?
No. The 1M uses different factory brakes from the 128i and 135i, so Brembo lists separate kits for it. Order from this page for a 1M, and from the E82 1 Series page for a 128i or 135i.

Which front kit should I choose?
Both front kits use a GT 6-piston caliper with the same six finishes. The 365mm kit is the lower-priced option. The 380mm kit has the larger disc for more heat capacity on track, and adds a Type 3 slotted disc option.

What is the difference between the two rear kits?
Both are GT 4-piston rear kits with the same six finishes and disc types. The 380mm kit has the larger disc and needs more wheel clearance; the 345mm kit is the lower-priced option.

Which kit should I fit first?
Start with a front kit. The front axle does most of the braking on the 1M, so that is where a bigger caliper and disc make the biggest difference. Add a rear kit later for balance and matching looks.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 380mm kits need the most room on the 1M. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists all kits on this page for the BMW 1M (E82) 2011-2012; US cars are 2011 model year. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
