Brembo Big Brake Kits for BMW F22 2 Series (2015-2021)

This page lists every Brembo big brake kit we offer for the BMW 2 Series Coupe (F22). Brembo lists the kits for the 228i and M235i (2015-2016) and the 230i and M240i (2017-2021). The F22 is a compact rear-drive coupe with a strong turbocharged engine, and the M235i and M240i in particular are popular track-day cars, where the factory brakes are the first thing to run out of heat capacity. A Brembo system replaces the caliper and disc on the axle you choose with a matched caliper, disc and pad package, sold as a complete axle set.

There are three front kits and two rear kits. On the front you can choose a GT 6-piston kit on 355x32mm two-piece discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 380x32mm two-piece discs, or a PISTA 6-piston race kit on 355x35mm two-piece discs. On the rear you can choose a GT 4-piston kit on 345x28mm two-piece discs or a PISTA 4-piston race kit on 345x28mm two-piece discs.

Fitment depends on the model and on the factory brakes. The GT 355mm front kit and the GT rear kit are listed for every model on this page. The GT 380mm front kit is listed for the M235i and M240i and for 228i and 230i cars with M-Sport brakes (excluding xDrive). Both PISTA kits are listed for the M235i and M240i only. The GT kits come in black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S hard-anodized black or GT-R nickel-plated billet. The GT 355mm front kit is offered with drilled or Type 3 slotted discs, and the GT 380mm front kit and the GT rear kit with drilled, Type 1 slotted or Type 3 slotted discs. The PISTA kits are Brembo's race systems and come with Type 3 or Type 5 slotted discs.

Choosing Your Kit

• Kit: Three front kits are listed first: a GT 6-piston kit on 355x32mm discs, a GT 6-piston kit on 380x32mm discs, and a PISTA 6-piston kit on 355x35mm discs. Then come two rear kits: a GT 4-piston kit on 345x28mm discs and a PISTA 4-piston kit on 345x28mm discs. Each kit name gives the axle, the system (GT or PISTA), the piston count and the disc size.
• Finish: front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit, front GT 6-piston 380x32mm kit, and rear GT 4-piston 345x28mm kit: black, red, silver, yellow, GT-S (black hard-anodized), and GT-R (billet-machined and nickel-plated); all PISTA kits: Brembo's standard PISTA finish. A finish that a kit does not offer cannot be selected for it.
• Disc Type: drilled discs suit street driving and give good wet-weather bite; Type 1 Slotted is a street and occasional-track disc; Type 3 Slotted is aimed at regular track days; Type 5 Slotted is a PISTA race disc for long, hot sessions. Offered as follows: Drilled and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 355x32mm kit; Drilled, Type 1 Slotted, and Type 3 Slotted on the front GT 6-piston 380x32mm kit and rear GT 4-piston 345x28mm kit; Type 3 Slotted and Type 5 Slotted on all PISTA kits.

Which F22 models do these fit?
Brembo lists the kits for the 2 Series Coupe (F22): 228i and M235i 2015-2016, and 230i and M240i 2017-2021. Brembo splits the 228i and 230i into cars with and without M-Sport brakes; M-Sport brake cars are listed excluding xDrive.

Which front kit fits my car?
The GT 355mm front kit is listed for every model on this page. The GT 380mm front kit is listed for the M235i, the M240i, and 228i or 230i cars with M-Sport brakes (excluding xDrive). The PISTA front kit is listed for the M235i and M240i only.

Do these kits fit the M2?
No. The M2 (F87) has its own page with the kits Brembo lists for it, so order from that page for an M2.

What is the difference between the GT and PISTA kits?
GT kits are built for road use and track days and come in several caliper finishes. PISTA kits are Brembo's race systems, with disc springs and a centering ring as standard, for cars that run long, hot track sessions.

Which kit should I fit first?
Start with a front kit. The front axle does most of the braking on the 2 Series, so that is where a bigger caliper and disc make the biggest difference. Add a rear kit later for balance and matching looks.

Will these kits fit my wheels?
Every big brake kit needs wheel clearance, and the 380mm kits need the most room on the 2 Series. Send us your wheel size and offset and we will check them against Brembo's clearance data before you order.

Fitment Notes

Brembo lists the kits on this page for the BMW 2 Series Coupe (F22): 228i 2015-2016 and 230i 2017-2021, with or without M-Sport brakes (M-Sport brake cars excluding xDrive), M235i 2015-2016 and M240i 2017-2021. Brembo GT systems are designed for cars at original ride height. Raising the ride height is not compatible with the brake lines included in these systems. The GT-R 6-piston caliper needs different wheel clearance from the GT 6-piston caliper.
