Downpipes are built with performance in mind. They are built to the highest quality and have undergone extensive testing and development so that they not only look great but improve sound and performance.
The “downpipe” section of an exhaust system connects the headers or exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter(s). For most vehicles, the downpipe section is essentially incorporated with the catalytic converter section, and since there’s very little performance or fuel economy benefit to replacing a modern catalytic converter (they’re just not that restrictive), most vehicle downpipes are never given much thought.
Capristo exhaust systems and components are engineered and manufactured utilizing advanced 3d laser-scanning, cad design, digital prototyping, and CNC-bending/milling at our factory in Germany. Each system is made of high-grade t309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand-polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sonic resonance properties, low weight, and durability which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in f1).
Recommended for off-road and track use only.
This system is designed to be installed directly into existing OEM mounting point.
Replacing your OEM catalytic converter/s may trigger a cel (check engine light). The only way to disable the cel is to mod/tune the ECU.
