AMS Race Catless Full Downpipes | 2016-2024 Q50 / 2017-2022 Q60 VR30

The AMS Performance VR30DDTT Race Catless Full Downpipes (part number ALP.28.05.0002-1) replace the complete factory downpipe run, from the turbo outlets back to the cat-back, on the 2016-2024 Infiniti Q50 3.0t and the 2017-2022 Infiniti Q60 3.0t. They are the next step up from AMS's lower downpipes: instead of keeping the factory upper sections, these pipes start right at the turbine flange.

That matters for power. On its shop Q60 running an AMS calibration, AMS measured about 20 horsepower more with these full downpipes than with its race lower downpipes, with power arriving earlier and noticeably faster turbo spool. The gradual mandrel-bent transitions keep exhaust gas moving quickly without building back pressure, and the heavy-gauge stainless holds heat in the pipe to help keep that velocity up. The sound turns throaty at wide-open throttle.

AMS designed the pipes in SolidWorks and test-fitted 3D-printed versions on the car, so they install with stock-like fitment and no chassis clearance problems. These are catless pipes for competition use only. For a catted setup, AMS makes a street version with GESI converters.

Installation

AMS's full downpipe installation guide (PDF) walks through removal and install. The factory distorted-thread lock nuts tend to friction-weld to their studs, so AMS recommends penetrant and loosening each nut a half turn at a time with hand tools, not an impact gun. On AWD cars the right-side secondary O2 connector is hard to reach until the factory pipe is unbolted.

FAQ

Full downpipes or lower downpipes?
The AMS Race Catless Lower Downpipes replace only the lower section and keep the factory uppers. The full downpipes replace the whole run from the turbos and made about 20 hp more in AMS's testing.

Do I need a tune?
AMS's 20 hp result was measured on a Q60 running an AMS calibration, so plan on a tune to see that gain.

Is there a catted version?
Yes. AMS offers street full downpipes with GESI converters; see the AMS catted full downpipes. For a catted lower section, see the AMS Street Catted Lower Downpipes.

Do my factory O2 sensors fit?
Yes. The pipes have threaded bungs for the factory sensors, and the sensor tubes reach the OEM location without extensions.

Do they fit the Nissan Z?
AMS lists this part for the Infiniti Q50 and Q60 only.
